Art and stories for the overwhelmed—created to bring calm, connection, and creativity into your everyday. From embroidered quotes to children’s books with cozy vibes, everything here is designed to help you slow down, feel deeply, and plant the seeds of wellbeing—no matter your age. You’re right where you need to be.

These are two of my favourite stim toys. Small, simple, and so comforting.
I keep them nearby for when I’m overwhelmed, fidgety, or just need a moment to ground myself.
Stimming is a natural way many of us regulate — and whether it’s for focus, calm, or joy, it’s completely valid.
Neurodivergent or not, everyone deserves tools that help them feel more like themselves.

Creativity doesn’t always look like a neat, tidy process.
Sometimes it’s scattered, slow, or stops and starts again.
And that’s okay.
Being creative is not about perfection — it’s about connection, expression, and making space for the ideas that live inside you (even if they show up all at once 😅).
Here’s your reminder: you don’t need to fit a mold to be an artist. Your way of creating is valid, just as it is. 💛

Any wins count. Truly.
Some days, a win might be a promotion or finishing a big project.
Other days? It’s getting out of bed. Eating something. Having a glass of water.
These wins are just as worthy of celebrating. ✨
Because depending on the day, they can feel just as big.
Some days, my version of a celebration is simply a quiet cup of coffee. ☕
Lately, I’ve been using the Finch app (not sponsored!) to help me notice and celebrate these small but important moments. It’s sweet, encouraging, and helps me cheer on both myself and my friends while my little “birb” grows and explores.
💬 What’s a small win you’ve celebrated recently? I’d love to know.

I’m not always great at giving myself true “me time.” I’ll pour energy into making things for others, but when it comes to doing something just for me? That can be a bit trickier.
So today, instead of illustrating something new for this post, I wanted to share something I’ve genuinely been enjoying in my downtime: Mockery Manor: The Murder Mystery Game by @longcatmedia 🎡🕵️♀️
I backed it on Kickstarter a while ago, and wow — it’s beautifully made, packed with detail, and exactly the kind of immersive escape I love. (No spoilers, I promise!) I’ve always appreciated their podcast work too — clever, funny, and full of great writing and sound design.
This isn’t sponsored in any way — just a quiet moment of “me time” I wanted to share, in case you need a little encouragement to take yours too 💛

Ever get halfway through a project… and then a new idea steals the spotlight?
Yep, me too. Constantly.
As someone who’s both creative and neurodivergent, I’m no stranger to “sparkle thoughts” — those exciting, distracting new ideas that show up before the old ones are finished.
Lately I’ve been jotting them down so I know they’re safe — but don’t need to act on them right away. It’s helped me so much with staying on track (and being a little kinder to myself too).

Setting the scene helps set the pace.
When I create with intention, it’s not just about making — it’s about meeting myself gently, wherever I am.
Whether it’s soft lighting, a candle flickering, a warm drink, or simply tidying the space around me — these little rituals help me ease into creative flow. Of course, Cif’s company always helps too!
It doesn’t have to be perfect. Just safe, soothing, and mine.

Were you a margin-doodler in school?
Same here — and it turns out, there’s a reason it helped.
For many of us (especially if you’re neurodivergent), doodling while listening is actually a form of active processing. It helps our brains stay engaged and retain information. I still doodle when I’m on a call or listening to something — it’s not a lack of attention, it’s a way of grounding it.
If you’ve ever felt silly or “bad” for needing to move while learning — this is your reminder that learning isn’t one-size-fits-all. You’re allowed to do what works for you.

Writing the first book in the Whimblewick series has brought up some old habits — hello, perfectionism 👋
I’ve been second-guessing the words I choose, worried about getting it just right. Maybe it’s my neurodivergent brain wanting a script, or maybe it’s just how deeply I care about telling this story well.
But I’m learning that clarity doesn’t come from overthinking — it comes from doing.
So here I am. One imperfect sentence at a time.
